Harley the rare Alaskan Klee Kai

Harley is an extremely rare breed of dog known as an Alaskan Klee Kai.  The breed was developed in Wasilla Alaska in the 1970’s and they resemble a small Husky. Harley is one of the few Klee Kai’s in Australia and the first in South Australia.

Due to the rarity of his breed, Harley is signed up to our Total Wellness Plan and has Pet Insurance. We all hope that Harley will never require the insurance cover, but at least if he does his owner won’t have that difficult decision between premium medical care and finding the funds to treat him.

Harley recently visited our Magill hospital to be desexed because his mum knows how important this procedure is for his future health. Desexing reduces the risk of some nasty hormone related diseases later in life.  It also means he will be less likely to wander off looking for a female friend, which can lead him in to all sorts of dangers.

Now Harley and his mum are safe in the knowledge that we have reduced or eliminated most of the issues he can have and any others we will face with his  insurance coverage.
