Head Veterinary Surgeon Prospect

  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery

Dr. Susan graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2004 with a Merit award in Small Animal Clinical Studies. After starting her career in Manchester, she returned to Scotland, working in clinics across Ayrshire and Glasgow.

In 2015, she took on her first leadership role at a busy inner-city charity vet in Glasgow, leading a large team of vets dedicated to providing essential care for pets whose owners were experiencing financial hardship. This fast-paced role was both challenging and deeply rewarding. She later transitioned to managing a struggling small practice in Ayrshire, where she quickly turned things around, earning a promotion to Clinical Director within nine months.

In January 2023, Susan relocated to Adelaide with her young family to join the AdelaideVet team, embracing the adventure of life in Australia. While she has enjoyed mentoring and leading veterinary teams, she is happiest in the operating theatre. She has a strong interest in soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, as well as osteoarthritis management and pain relief for senior pets. Recently, she completed a course in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery and looks forward to expanding her expertise in this area.

Before having children, Susan bred and showed Bengal cats, but these days, her two young kids keep her busy! As a family, they love exploring the outdoors with their Welsh Springer Spaniel, Copper. In her spare time, Susan enjoys traveling, baking, cooking, and photography.
