A Hidden Surprise: Lady Jane’s Unexpected Discovery
At our Prospect clinic, we recently performed a routine spey procedure on Lady Jane, a beautiful 3-year-old Rottweiler cross. However, just before placing her endotracheal (ET) tube for anesthesia, Dr. Susan made a surprising discovery—a stick was lodged on the roof of Lady Jane’s mouth!
Fortunately, Lady Jane only had a small ulcer from the stick, and her owner will be keeping an eye on it as she heals. This case is a great reminder for pet owners to regularly check their dog’s mouth and be mindful of what they’re playing with in the yard. Sticks, bones, and even small toys can become stuck, leading to discomfort or more serious injuries.
