In the world of veterinary medicine, each patient’s journey is unique, and today we are delighted to share with you the heart-warming story of Ping, a furry friend who has captured our hearts with his resilience and cheeky face. At just 10-months-old, Ping, an Australian Mist cat, has shown incredible strength in the face of a rare health challenge.

Ping presented to our Trinity Gardens hospital seriously unwell with vomiting, diarrhoea and inappetence. Our dedicated team at AdelaideVet Trinity Gardens immediately sprang into action to provide Ping with the comprehensive care he needed. Through meticulous diagnostics, including X-rays, an exploratory laparotomy (open abdominal surgery) and biopsies of the stomach and intestines we gained crucial insights into Ping’s condition, a diagnosis and a treatment plan. Ping was diagnosed with lymphoplasmacytic and eosinophilic enteritis with lymphangiectasia an intricate and complex disease affecting Ping’s intestines, causing inflammation and disruption to his digestive system. Ping stayed in our Trinity Gardens hospital for 6 days where we employed a multifaced approach to support his recovery including careful medical management, intravenous fluid support and a tailored nutrition plan with syringe feeding.

While this is a life-long diagnosis, Ping has recovered from his health scare. A veterinary nutrition specialist was consulted, and dietary adjustments have been made to ensure that Ping continues to grow and develop fully. We’re inspired by Ping’s courage and his parent’s dedication. We are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of his healing process. Our team is committed to providing him with the best possible care and support every step of the way.
