How do I receive my products?

Monthly parasite control products (flea control, intestinal wormers and heartworm prevention if included in your plan) will be posted to you, timed to arrive on the working day before your pet is due for treatment each month. For injections (annual vaccination and heartworm prevention injection) you will need to visit the hospital with your pet. We will send you a reminder when these are due.

How often can I visit the veterinarian at no charge?

Unlimited standard consultations* are included in our plans so you can visit as many times as you like throughout the year. If you feel your pet is unwell or have any questions about their health, you can simply phone one of our hospitals for an appointment.

*Does not include specialist consultations or ancillary services. Does not include after hours or home visits or consultations on Sundays or Public Holidays. Any medication, pathology testing or procedures will incur a charge. Nail clipping and Anal Gland expression are also excluded (a small charge will apply for these.)

What if my pet's condition requires subsequent visits?

Subsequent visits or revisits are included in the Total Wellness Plan. How good is that!

  • For cats a F4 +/- FIV Vaccination to protect against Panleucopaenia (Feline enteritis), Rhinotracheitis (Feline herpes virus), Calicivirus (Cat flu) and Chlamydophila (Chlamydia)
  • Adult cats starting a vaccination program will need to pay for additional vaccinations. For example an extra F4 +/- FIV and FIV testing if required

My pet is a puppy or kitten. Does the Total Wellness Plan cover for their initial vaccinations?

The Total Wellness Plan includes puppies or kittens vaccination under 6 months of age.

Can I use different products to those selected in the Wellness Plan by AdelaideVet?

We have selected our Wellness Plan products with your pet's optimum health care in mind. Our selection enables us to provide the best health care possible at the most affordable price for you, therefore we are not able to substitute a different product.

Can I use my Total Wellness Plan at any AdelaideVet?

Your Total Wellness Plan can be used at any AdelaideVet in South Australia. This also means if your usual AdelaideVet is closed at any time such as Sundays and after hours, you can visit our other hospitals who have extended hours. For opening hours and locations visit this link.

Can I use my Total Wellness Plan for emergency and after-hours consultations?

After hours and emergency consultations are not included in the Total Wellness Plan. Unlimited consultations only apply to standard consultations during our normal open hours. As an AdelaideVet client, your pets full medical records and contact details are available at all AdelaideVet clinics, so if you have an emergency or after-hours need for your pet we can quickly and easily access their medical file to assist in optimal treatment at our Trinity Gardens practice. Find out more about pet emergencies.

I'm interested and want to join, what next?

Visit one of our hospitals and our team will assist you to complete an enrolment form. You will then receive any treatments that are currently required and the full program will be outlined. Alternatively, you can call one of our hospitals and we can set up your pet's Total Wellness Plan membership over the phone. Please note you will need to advise your dog's weight if you have not visited our hospitals previously.  Click here for more information.

If I join the Total Wellness Program is there a waiting period before I can bring my pet in to see the vet?

No, there is no waiting period. You can bring your pet in to see us to start using your included consultations immediately.

Why does the price vary for dogs of different sizes or weight?

Vaccinations and parasite control products used in the Total Wellness Plan are tailored to suit your dog's size. The plan prices are a reflection of the products required by your pet.

Is the Total Wellness Plan the same as pet insurance?

No. The Total Wellness Plan is not a replacement for pet insurance. Rather this plan will provide your pet with all they need to stay healthy, whilst pet insurance will cover them for any accidents or illnesses that may affect them. Pet insurance is still recommended.
