In 2021 AdelaideVet were excited to launch their inaugural Charity Calendar! The calendar contains photos of our much-loved patients who attend our clinics, as well as Cat Boarding, Doggy Daycare and Puppy School programs. The proceeds from the Charity Calendar sales went towards a staff nominated charity, Safe Pets Safe Families and we were able to raise $500 to support their very worthy cause.
Safe Pets Safe Families is a not-for-profit charity founded in 2013 by Jennifer Howard. This charity offers support to pet owners in the South Australian community that are experiencing difficulties or emergencies through domestic violence, homelessness, medical crises and/or mental health issues. Jennifer Howard started this foundation due to her own experiences with domestic violence, unfortunately, during this time there wasn’t a charity or organisation that could support Jennifer and her pets. Jennifer, due to this lack of support had to surrender her dogs to a shelter. This extremely difficult decision sparked a passion within Jennifer to help other families experiencing similar circumstances; creating a charitable organisation to support families, preventing future pets from being surrendered, or worse. The result is an incredibly innovative and much-needed organisation that is making a positive difference in Australia.
We’re thrilled to have commenced our 2022 calendar and entries are now open to submit your pet and win some fabulous prizes. The calendar not only contains all the important dates you will need (public holidays, school holidays, international dog and cat days of course!) but also pet care tips and more.
